Monday

I'm tabbing through pages for inspiration and a little bit more emphasis to what a Monday means to me.

Pinterest and Tumblr. Blog after media blog.

I've been sneezing nonstop for the past 14 hours. Feverish and without a care for the past 84.

I really should have nothing to complain or fret over. I have room to indulge in finer hobbies with upright posture. Throw in a sushi roll or brand-name coffee.

I think I found myself as a little meaningless bag of bones and fashion-stamped skin. What would make me feel better? Room to breathe? A little more growth to my wallet or even a refresher to my grammar?

I'll take a crack to a leather-bound spine soon. The one that hold novels - nothing of a fetish nature (at this time).

Maybe I should discontinue my cold medications. I could consider myself a little too organic from abstaining too much from the modern-world prescriptions. alcohol, and gluten.

I should just become a cute roach. I bet they're never bored whilst they live as swarming kings. They don't have to continue their carpal tunnel syndrome indulgences' for a Tuesday.

I would like a cup of tea now. Go away, head cold.

It's been so long

I have too much going on. In one week: 35 hours of job 1, 10 hours job 2, 9 hours of laboratory work, 2 exams, 4 quizzes, 4 discussion threads, 4-5 homework assignments + being the only female in the house who seems to recognize the need to clean......one massive headache. I'll return after July 1st, promise to myself <3

Oh no,

I hate accidentally deleting yummy photographs.

My boyfriend decided to be extra sweet this weekend and surprise me with a batch of cupcakes from Sprinkles that included coconut&lemon, vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate.
Needless to say, after keeping my cravings under control long enough to take the photographs, they seemed to have been deleted while I uploaded them into my computer tonight.

So instead of delicious sweets, I'll leave you with a flickr update.

Clueless

It's 11:21pm and Tuesdays are again the longest and shortest days of my life (on another note, it was 80 degrees Fahrenheit/27 Celsius, and it hailed today! What insanity!). I worked a shift from 7a-1:30p, and ran off to my nanny job from 2:30p-10p. Struggling to save each penny until my escape to London, and each time I see the calendar at work I can't help, but feel my heart flutter in excitement. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on shops and restaurants? Anything, including down and gritty, vintage, hole-in-the-wall places one may find. Next week, apart from working the usual ~50 hours, I will be running around to straighten out all my school applications for pre-requisites on nursing and balancing the checkbooks! I'm a huge list person, so each time I cross off an errand it brings me a piece of heavenly sliced, stress-free, dessert-indulging feeling. I'm trying to keep up with new photo uploads to my Flickr so please check it out. Hopefully, with this Saturday off, I can throw in a creative self-portrait, maybe even the one I've had in mind...

All is well, and with all this stress mounting on me post-college, I'm still alive and in love con mi vida.
I leave you with a sample of my tired self-portrait, in the Texas gust and lightning, with a raindrop or two....Yes, we have insane weather.

Sushi on Mckinney

This past weekend the weather had been so hot and disgustingly sticky, so we decided on stopping by Pinkberry for some frozen yogurt, and some sushi previously to that in the Knox area of Dallas. The place we arrived at is simply called "Sushi On McKinney." I had been curious about it for a while each time I parked in the common lot with the blocks full of restaurants. Granted, the window seating is amazing inside, the view makes you wish to stay indoors, especially in Texas weather. We started off with soft shell crab, followed by seaweed salad, a caterpillar roll, and the most surprising, the Devil roll. The crab was the least favorite of mine, and the seaweed salad was average. The caterpillar roll was absolutely delicious, without the gross fatty feeling eel sometimes leaves in your mouth. But that devil roll...as soon as the older waitress brought it to our table, she brought along glasses of water and warned us with a shake of her finger to be careful as we chewed. She had had grown men cry over it due to the burn the spicy roll held. "This is it? But it looks like a salmon roll!" Jake and I stared at each other as we took a bite...and quickly relearned the lesson of looks being deceiving. He went through two glasses of water through bites, and my eyes water as my throat burned through the wasabi puree hidden through the veggies and salmon. How amusing the show must be to the waitress each time. Here's a summary of our little adventure off McKinney.

Dear Blogger,

How do I work your website? Time to start all over an remember how to do these codes...I'm currently watching Glee to cheer me up. An argument with my dad isn't the most pleasant to remember. The constant reminder and jokes about how having a college degree and making the same amount of money as pre-college diploma is a constant struggle for my pride. I need to figure out what I'm going to do before I'm running into more dead ends. This little, 6 year old laptop is my solace and escape.

Things aren't so bad, really.

Dear Monday,

You arrived too quick and now you're dragging your feet to leave. I stared at the time slowly change from digital to digital line, with such a slow day of 160 customer transactions. I came home to clean the house where 2 of my uncles, my dad, and my brother are staying in. Cleaned the kitchen, snapped a photo, and sat down to watch Glee so I didn't have to overwork my brain...My other half helped me survive through simple conversations through my blackberry screen to look forward to. Now some coworkers are headed to  Boomerjacks in Arlington. I'll give it an -okay- review from the last time I went. It was too full to sit in the bar area, so I've only sat in the indoor patio, with my elbows melting into a sticky table from the previous drunks enjoying their time of alcohol bliss over and over again.

Time to make a dress. Pictures soon to come.
I have also now purchased a plane ticket to London. The first time to leave the continent ever, and a first to leave Texas on my own. I went to California once when I was 10 if anyone counts that, and of course my many trips to Mexico via a strict family as the oldest female of the grandchildren.

Sometimes I feel under-appreciated.
